Idols Are False Gods That Could Bring Us Eternal Damnation
Creating False Gods
There is only one God that we should should be praising. When we idolize people or material things than we are putting these things into our heart which in turn will anger the one true God. We are not supposed to have idols and worship or adore these things by creating false gods out of them.
Many people attach themselves to people and material things that cause them to control their way of living, their emotions, their thoughts and their love. By doing this, they are directing themselves away from God and this is a fatal thing for anyone to do.
God created us, therefore He is our Father and we belong to Him. What He did do was give us free will to choose our own destiny. God has done everything He could to help us choose the right direction so that we will live forever and not condemn ourselves to eternal damnation. He spoke to the prophets and they had His word recorded in what today we call the Bible. He sent His blessed Son Jesus to show us the way and give us truth. God did not create or send idols for us to worship.
If you were standing next to an active volcano and a scientist came along and said, “You need to leave here soon, this volcano can erupt any minute and you will surely perish.” Would you take his word for it and leave? Of course you would, unless you want to commit suicide. So, what is it about us that we don’t adhere to God’s warnings about our fate if we make the wrong choices? Are we that stubborn or is it that we just can’t see this happening like if we were standing next to the volcano?
Why do we spend so much time working for temporary things that don’t last (and we do this over and over again) when we could be working for our salvation to live an eternal life in heaven with God? The temporary things of the world will keep us disconnected from our Father in heaven. Follow Jesus and He will help us to prepare ourselves so that we can return to God by purifying ourselves of all the things that corrupt our soul.
Spiritual growth is important and should not be neglected or put aside, we are here in this temporary life to do what we can to return back to God and be in union with Him forever and it all starts with you seeking Jesus, our Savior. Bring God and Jesus into your heart instead of creating false gods and idols or the things of this passing world. May God Bless You Always

Idols – What Fills Your Heart? Podcast
Is It God or Some Idol That We Worship?
These are things that we see or actually don’t see (because of our blindness) as normal everyday objects that are a part of our daily lives. People idolize different things in different ways. Some things are idolized only for short periods of time, while others become attached to our hearts.
One of the things that people will idolize is people and in some cases ourselves. Some are sports figures, actors/actresses, performers, politicians (yes, there are those that idolize them too), musicians, family members, and just about anyone that can influence another. Let’s take for example: Elvis. He’s probably the biggest idol going. The man’s been dead for many years, yet people still praise and worship him. Why? He didn’t create us, he doesn’t even know we exist.
What did he ever do for people that is greater than what God has done for us. Elvis certainly couldn’t give us eternal life. He was nothing more than a musician. That was his talent and everyone has some kind of talent to do something he couldn’t do. So, what did he do that is everlasting? It certainly didn’t benefit him, he passed away prematurely. If he cared about his fans he would have taken care of himself better, he certainly didn’t lay his life down for us, like Jesus did. Do you see how idolizing people is so vain?
People can’t love you like God can. Again,God gave you a free will to do what you want. Your bodily senses play a major role in idolizing. Take your sense of hearing. Music has a way of playing with our emotions. Some music gives us goose bumps and tingles our body, other music can bring tears to our eyes. Some music relaxes us, while other music makes us joyful.
Some music causes our body to move, some music causes us to get pumped up in a sort of violent way. Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. It’s hard to get to know God when you have a stormy sea going on inside you. Let Jesus help you calm the sea, who needs the clamor. We see the things of this world and idolize them, like cars, boats, houses, clothes, food, money, art, work, collectibles, just about anything you can bring into your heart.
Look at the six day creation and read what God created. In Deuteronomy 5:8 “You shall not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth.” We’re supposed to give the glory to God in the things He created, not to duplicate them and bring glory to ourselves or idolize them.
Ever wonder why we spend so much time and money creating fancy looking things like cars, houses buildings, clothes, jewery and many other items. If we just kept life plain and simple everyone would be happy, no one would go without. God would bless us dearly.
Idols rule though, as long as there is pride, greed, insecurity, unhappiness and just plain evil. God did not create anything that would cause us to look away from Him. We were created in the image of God. Spiritual and pure, holy and righteous. It was only when man disobeyed God by tasting one of the bad fruits (sin) that he fell from grace and he became bent towards the world.
We even bring our kids up on idols like stuffed animals, santa claus, the easter bunny, christmas trees, and anything that turns ourselves away from God. So, we can worship and adore these things of self destruction and in the end what will we have gained?
All the things we idolized are left above while we lie in a grave empty. We worked and lived for temporary things, for a temporary life, instead of working for eternal things for an eternal everlasting life with God. Again you have a choice, either Revelations 21:1-7 or Revelations 21:8. God gave us free will to love and obey Him or the world. There’s going to be so many people left outside the Kingdom of God because they chose the world or you might say “themselves”.
Idols are things cherished and worshipped and adored. If people would just follow Jesus with all their heart, He would lead them to a new life. And in this new life, they will learn the will of God. They will see things as God sees them. Then they will understand how vain and evil the things that we idolize really are. You can’t see spiritual things with carnal eyes. We need to have eyes single to God and His glory.
May God Bless You Dearly

Seek The Truth In Jesus Christ and Leave Satan’s World Behind
This is a quote from the article “The Free Will Of Man”, where it says, “Man can choose to do right or wrong, such as, what to eat, how to dress, what to say, where to go, how to live and what or who to worship”.
When one chooses to accept Jesus Christ with their heart, they’re looking to change their life. They new something was missing and now they have found it. Their life suddenly has meaning and they want to follow Jesus and do what it takes to walk with Him. The main thing is to learn how to change one’s life so they can be pleasing to God in His eyes. When we have that one on one relationship with Jesus, He begins to show us what we need to do to overcome sin in our life.
We follow Him down that long and narrow road with our cross on our shoulder seeking truth. Once you reach a certain point in your walk with Jesus, He will, just as He says in John 14: 15 – 17, ‘ If you love me you will keep my commandments. I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Advocate to be with you forever, that Spirit of truth whom the world can never receive since it neither sees nor knows Him; but you know Him, because He is with you, He is in you.
This is the transformation from carnal to spiritual. Your spiritual eyes open and suddenly you see the world in a whole new outlook. This is the new creation (one’s true identity) that Paul talks about. You are reborn and now you are a little child ready to grow into a mature, spiritual adult.
Seeing the world through spiritual eyes you know that this is not God’s world or the world that He meant it to be. You see Satan’s world, man’s world, madness, insanity and you realize that this not the reality of God. What one begins to see and know is truth, something that the world cannot see or understand.
The one thing about carnal ( man’s false identity ), is that that is all it sees and knows. It wants to live for the world, by the world and for itself. Man lives as a slave to the world. You could actually call this kind of living “Self-destruction”. Most will never get to know their spiritual side while living in the world.
The carnal self seeks the things of the world which are only temporary. It seeks happiness in the world and the happiness it finds is only temporary. Man has to keep finding ways to amuse himself over and over again, even in his thoughts. He might think back of a vacation he once went on or just daydream about something pleasant. There is no lasting happiness or peace in this world. Aman that is a slave of the world is doomed, it is self-destrustion.
We normally don’t take the things of the world and analize them, for example: Going out to dinner. We like to go out to dinner, but how can we turn this into a bad thing? Let’s say we planned this a couple of days in advance and we’re really looking forward to going out.
So, first of all, what caused you to decide to go out to dinner in the first place? Do you need a little enjoyment? Was it boredom? A T.V. commercial that’s running a special on one of your favorite foods? Could be we hunger for a certain food to please out taste buds? It doesn’t matter what triggered it, but this is what you would call the start of a carnal high being born.
Up until the time you make it to the restaurant, you find yourself thinking about the time you are going to have and the food you are going to eat. Some of us can’t wait to get to the restaurant. One thinks about what they’re going to order and pictures themselves eating the dinner they ordered. Sometimes to the point where you can almost taste the food. As one thinks about these things, it put us in a happy mood.
Finally you make it to the restaurant, you grab a menu and now it is time to make a decision. Oh boy, everything looks so good on here, I wish I could order it all. You place your order and in a little while out comes the dinner that you been thinking about for days. You start to eat and you savor the flavor of every bite. Now your done and you leave the restaurant. While your on the way home your talking to your company about what a great dinner that was. The next day comes and that dinner you had comes to mind and you smile and think about it all over again.
I’m not saying that it is a sin to go out to dinner, but what I am saying is that sin can be born from it. Pride (self) is the mother of all sin. What I gave as an example was is what you call lust. Pride gave birth to lust and lust grew and became self-indulgence. You use this word all the time in commercials and at restaurants, mainly when they advertise a dessert. They say something like, “We have a quadruple chocolate cheese cake, so come and indulge yourself”.
One can lose their sobriety and become drunk with lust in many different ways. This is basically what the bible talks about when they use the words sober and drunk. Sober in other words meaning temperance, moderation. Drunk on the other hand meaning that one over indulged, acquired too much…
Humility is the key to overcoming pride. Pride is when one puts oneself first, this is Satan’s world and man’s world. Humility is when one puts God first, then others and to be honest with you, one that is humble doesn’t usually think about themselves at all.
Jesus is here for us, He wants to help us make that union with God again. But it’s going to take everything we have to fight and overcome ourselves and the darkness that lies within us. Jesus is the Light, the Way, the Truth and Life. It’s up to us to have the desire, the willingness, the courage, the faith and the ability to put our trust in Jesus Christ, Our Savior, Our Big Brother and Our Best Friend. We have to have faith and trust in Him without any worries, fears or doubts. Are you ready to pick up your Cross and follow Him all the way back to God?
