<itunes:summary>What are Your Christian Beliefs? What are Your Christian Beliefs Podcast

Do You Follow Your Christian Beliefs?
Many people will not call on Jesus, but you know having found Jesus is a beautiful thing. Your life seems to have meaning. You’ve seem to have found something that brings you great joy and happiness. If you were coping with loneliness, then you know now, to overcome loneliness it takes Jesus Christ to fill your heart with His Love. Praise the Lord.
Anyone that has accepted Jesus into their heart is considered to be a follower of Jesus Christ. So, when anyone asks you, “Are you a Christian?”, certainly you’re going to reply “Yes, I am” because of your Christian beliefs. Now there is a big responsibility in calling yourself a Christian.
One needs to know that in calling yourself a Christian, you are representing the ministry that Jesus started. Not any of the churches that exist, but the ministry of Jesus Christ. The danger of this is, is that by not living up to the standards of what Jesus laid out for us to follow, we could very well bring God into contempt.
People are going to be people, and if they see the opportunity to make themselves feel good about themselves, they will. What it is, is that people like to point fingers. And when it comes to religion, they will convince themselves of things like Christians are a bunch of hypocrites, Christian beliefs conflict with each other, and why would I want to become one of them or look at the Catholic priests that are molesting little boys. What about the Muslims? Certainly they’re not all terrorists, yet have one come around and people begin to judge them without even getting to know them. Understand what I’m trying to get at. People love dirty laundry.
It seems that the worse it is, the better for them. I’m definitely not denying that I haven’t been there myself pointing fingers. It seems like we need to do this, so that we can feel a little better about ourselves and not have to really see who we really are. We can be quick to judge others, but when it comes to ourselves, forget it. You have to remember that people are always watching you. Not so much as to be in waiting for you to slip up, but your conduct.
If they see a mild mannered, polite, easy going person that is kind and considerate then that’s what they’re going to see. But if they see a rude, nasty, foul mouthed, angry person then that is what they are going to see. It’s not so much as to be concerned about you calling yourself a Christian, but it would be better that they call you a Christian. That is what brings Glory to God.
The best thing that you want people to see in you is the good. No one wants to be considered evil, but who and what you are in God’s eyes is what is really going to matter. Here’s an example: I do a lot of driving everyday at work. I see people with the fish sign on their car. To me they’re advertising the fact that they are a Christian. What gets me is the way they drive. Speeding, cutting people off and so on. Now I’m sure that there’s people that don’t know the Lord yet, saying things like “look at that maniac and he’s supposed to be a Christian?” Whoops, there goes another black eye for God. I just basically want you to see what harm can be done.
We really need to be cautious about how we represent ourselves and express our Christian beliefs. If you want to be humble and someone asks you if you are a Christian, just tell them that your faith is in Jesus Christ, He is our Savior and that you try to follow Him as best as you can, but you are not without fault. Then when you do mess up, no one gets hurt. A Christian is a follower of Christ,a disciple. If you want to see what Jesus requires of one to be a disciple of His, look up these scriptures. Luke 6:46 – 49, Luke 14:26, 27 & 33, John 8:31 -34, John 13:34, 35, John 15:8.

What is Your Fear of God?
Sometimes we get that feeling that there is something missing in our life. We feel a void, emptiness inside that can’t be filled by the things of the world or any person’s companionship. Even though we may have many people who love us, a family, friends and others that we may be in contact with from time to time, we still feel lonely inside. We often wonder what it’s all about and what can we do to get rid of that isolated feeling inside of us.
Many people feel a love in their hearts for God, but lose it when they choose to go back to the world. For others, they reject the Love that God has towards them, they may even go as far as denouncing God. For those that try to live their life for God one day and the world the next day, they are living as Jesus has said in Revelation about the church of Laodicea.
It’s a terrible thing to have to be the one who angers God. Our sinful nature causes us to be blind to the wonderful things God is offering us like, joy, peace, true freedom and happiness. The main thing that He offers us is everlasting eternal life.
We need to look inward not outward. Ask Jesus to help you see yourself, so you too can nail your flesh to the cross and be reborn. The flesh is corrupt and it corrupts our mind, our heart and our soul. Which leaves us disconnected from God.
Jesus will help us overcome our flesh and the bondage of the world. We just have to humble ourselves, have the desire to give our will over to God, be willing to accept the life that He has laid out for us, learn to love one another and be uncontaminated from the world.
Jesus can fill that void that we feel inside of us, the one that we can’t fill ourselves even though we try to over and over again with the things of the world. That is why man has to constantly seek out new things that will temporarily bring him/her happiness. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and Life. Imagine being truly free from all the things of the world and living in a peace that the world or man can never bring you.
For those that don’t believe in God or do not serve Him, the “fear of God” is to be afraid of His wrath. For those that believe in God and try hard to be righteous in His eyes, the “fear of God” means to have reverence for God.
God Bless You

<itunes:summary>Materialism – Treasures Of The HeartMaterialism – Treasures Of The Heart Podcast

Good Master, what have I to do to inherit eternal life?
Matthew 6:19-21 ‘Do not store up treasure for yourselves on earth, where moths and woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasure for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
What treasure is stored up in your heart? What’s attached to my heart?, worldly things?, things of the flesh?, people?, places? You could find a number of things if you look. These things are what keep God out of your heart. God is a jealous God and loving someone or something above Him is not loving God. You can test yourself to see what’s attached to your heart by seeing if you can live without whatever you have. All the different things you do, people you love, and things you have.
Luke 18:18-23 A member of one of the leading families put this question to Him, ‘Good Master, what have I to do to inherit eternal life? Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call Me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments : You must not commit adultery ; you must not kill ; You must not steal ; You must not bear false witness ; Honour your father and mother. He replied, ‘I have kept all these from my earliest days till now. ‘And when Jesus heard this He said, ‘There is still one thing you lack. Sell all you own and distribute the money to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven ; then come follow me.’ But when he heard this he was filled with sadness, for he was very rich.
It’s that attachment thing, his heart was full of temporary love. Not the everlasting love of God. Rich doesn’t always apply to people with millions. If you have more than someone else, you are rich. Detachment from materialism and the world is the way to a spiritual life and true spiritual love for God and your neighbor. Luke 18:24, 25 Jesus looked at him and said, ‘How hard it is for those who have riches to make their way into the Kingdom of God! Yes, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.’
In Jerusalem there was a gate called “the eye of the needle”. It was only big enough for one person at a time to pass through. It was the only gate open at night, in case of enemy attack. If a person wanted to bring his camel into the city at night he would have to unburden the camel. Removing all items attached to the camel. Then he would have to get the camel down on all four knees and have him crawl through the gate willingly.
Now, we know that camels are pretty stubborn animals, probably the most stubborn. In this scripture Jesus is using a camel to describe us. We can be pretty stubborn when it comes to giving up our petty little lives. When we follow Jesus and in our walk with Him, we need to unburden ourselves, by lightening the load we carry.
How about your mind? We constantly occupy our minds with meaningless thoughts. Things like, how much better things would be if you had a lot of money or a better job, daydreams, things we lust for, etc., etc. Our life is supposed to be in Gods hands and we are supposed to do His will. But how are we supposed to find out what Gods will is for us if we keep our minds occupied with frivolous things? Our minds should be occupied on spiritual things, like proving God’s promises and fulfilling the laws of righteousness. How corrupt is your soul?
John 2:13-16 And pasch of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting. And when He had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, He drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers He po[...]</itunes:summary>
